Invisalign straightens your teeth using a series of clear, removable aligners that gently move them into place, with no metal brackets or wires. At Kissdental in Manchester, most treatments take somewhere between a few months and around 18 months depending on how much your teeth need to move.

Invisalign uses a set of custom-made clear aligners that you wear over your teeth and change every week or two. Each aligner is slightly different from the last, so your teeth move a small step at a time until they reach the planned position. We take a digital scan of your mouth, plan the whole movement on screen so you can see the likely result before you start, and then have your aligners made to that plan. You wear them around 20 to 22 hours a day and take them out only to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth.
Invisalign suits most adults and older teenagers who want to straighten crowded, gapped or crooked teeth without fixed braces. It works well for mild to moderate cases and for many more complex ones too, and we check your bite, gums and teeth at your consultation to confirm it is right for you. If your case needs more control than aligners can give, we will say so honestly and talk through fixed braces or another option rather than push Invisalign where it is not the best fit.
Most Invisalign treatments take between a few months and around 18 months, with the average case sitting somewhere in the middle. The time depends on how far your teeth need to move and how consistently you wear the aligners, which is why the 20 to 22 hours a day really matters. We give you a realistic timeline at your consultation once we have planned your case, and you will usually wear a retainer afterwards to hold the result.

I for one have always been scared of the dentist but from start to finish the whole experience was nothing but 10/10. I would highly recommend. All the staff in the practice were Lovley and super welcoming. And everything I needed was always posted out to me and they were super accommodating as I live quite far from the practise.

Invisalign comes in different forms depending on how much movement your teeth need, and we will match the right one to your case at your consultation. Shorter courses suit minor movement at the front of the smile and finish sooner, while a full course covers more of the bite and takes longer. We confirm which option suits you, and the exact number of aligners, after your scan and assessment.
As everyone’s needs are different, we build a bespoke treatment plan that plots every point your teeth need to pass through on the way to their final position. We also provide Invisalign at our Bury and Knutsford clinics, so you can choose whichever is most convenient.
Invisalign is not the only way to straighten teeth, and we will give you an honest comparison. Once your teeth are in their final position, you wear a retainer to keep them there, because teeth can drift back over time without one. We talk you through your retainer options and how often to wear it. Looking after your retainer and keeping your regular check-ups protects the result you have worked for.
For many cases Invisalign works very well, and for some complex movements fixed braces give the orthodontist more control. The best option depends on your bite and what needs correcting.
