Let’s be straight with you—a single dental implant in the UK costs between £2,000 and £3,000. Full mouth implants? You’re looking at £6,000 to £25,000+ depending on how complex your situation is. But there’s a lot more to understand about implant pricing, and that’s exactly what we’re covering here.
We’re the team at Kiss Dental, and we’ve been helping people across the North West get their smiles back with dental implants for years. We know dental work isn’t cheap, and you deserve to understand exactly what you’re paying for.
A single dental implant in the UK typically costs between £2,000 and £3,000. This is what you’d expect to pay for one tooth replacement that includes the implant itself, the abutment (the connector piece), and the crown.
Most practices include the surgical placement in this price, though some charge separately. The variation in cost comes down to several factors we’ll explore in a moment.
If you need more than one implant, the cost per tooth can sometimes come down a bit. Replacing three teeth might cost you £5,500 to £8,000 instead of £9,000 if you paid full single-tooth pricing. The procedure is more complex and takes longer, but there are some economies of scale.
Two implants typically run £4,000 to £5,500. Five implants? You’re looking at roughly £9,000 to £14,000.
If you need a complete new set of teeth, you have options that don’t require eight or more implants to look and function naturally.
The All-on-4 solution is genuinely impressive. Four implants support a full set of replacement teeth, typically costing between £6,000 and £12,000 per arch (upper or lower). A complete mouth restoration (both arches) runs £12,000 to £25,000+.
This approach is clever because it maximises the support from a minimal number of implants, uses the available bone structure efficiently, and doesn’t require bone grafting in many cases.
If you go with six to eight implants per arch, you’re looking at £12,000 to £20,000 per arch, or £24,000 to £40,000 for a full mouth restoration.
Most implants in the UK are titanium—it’s proven, reliable, and reasonably priced. Zirconia implants are ceramic and can be more expensive (£3,000 to £4,000 per tooth) but some patients prefer them for aesthetic or allergy concerns.
If you’ve had teeth missing for years, your jawbone may have deteriorated. Placing implants into degraded bone is more complex and takes longer. You might need bone grafting first, which adds £800 to £2,000+ to your treatment cost.
Many people need bone grafting before implant placement. This isn’t a cost anyone wants, but it’s often necessary. Expect to add £800 to £2,000 if you need grafting, depending on how much bone needs replacement.
Local anaesthetic is standard. Conscious sedation (you’re relaxed but aware) adds £300 to £600. General anaesthetic, though rare for implants, adds £1,000+.
A dentist who’s placed 500 implants will likely charge more than someone newer to the procedure—and honestly, that experience matters. You’re not just paying for the implant; you’re paying for expertise that reduces complications.
London practices charge 20-30% more than comparable practices in Manchester or Liverpool. Premium locations and modern facilities cost more to maintain.
A bridge to replace one tooth costs £800 to £1,500. Sounds cheaper than a £2,500 implant, right? But here’s the thing—a bridge typically lasts 10 years. You’ll likely need replacement within your lifetime. An implant, if maintained well, can last 20+ years, sometimes a lifetime.
Over 40 years, that bridge isn’t the bargain it first appears.
A complete set of dentures costs £1,500 to £3,000 upfront. But dentures need relining every 5 years (£300-500), replacement every 7-10 years, and they affect how you taste food and the strength of your bite.
Implants cost more initially but preserve your jawbone, feel natural, and last far longer without replacement.
At Kiss Dental, we don’t believe in surprising people with costs. Here’s how we work:
Initial Consultation. We examine your teeth and jawbone using 3D imaging. This includes discussing your options and getting a cost estimate.
Treatment Planning. Once we understand your needs, we create a detailed plan and provide a fixed price quote. At this stage, you know exactly what you’re paying.
Surgical Phase. We place your implant(s) under local anaesthetic, typically taking 30 minutes to an hour per implant. You’ll need 3-6 months for the implant to integrate with your bone—this is called osseointegration.
Restoration Phase. Once integration is complete, we fit your crown, bridge, or denture to the implant. This usually takes 2-3 appointments.
We have experienced implant dentists across our Manchester City Centre practice, our Altrincham location, and our Flixton clinic. We’ve also got practices in Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Liverpool, Bury, and Bramhall.
Dr Kailesh Solanki, our founder, leads our implant approach. He’s been working with dental implants for over 15 years and believes every patient deserves transparent pricing and straightforward communication about their treatment.
Implants are an investment in your smile and your health, and we understand they’re not always easy to afford upfront.
At Kiss Dental, we offer flexible payment options to spread costs over 12-24 months with little to no interest.
Most private dental insurance doesn’t cover implants—they’re usually considered cosmetic or restorative rather than essential. Check your policy, but expect to self-fund.
The NHS doesn’t provide implants, except in rare circumstances (like trauma or cancer treatment). You’ll be private regardless of NHS registration.
You’re paying for precision engineering (the implant itself), expertise (your dentist’s training), time (the procedure takes 30+ minutes), and long-term durability (they should last 20+ years). Quality materials and careful surgical technique prevent complications. It’s expensive because it’s worth doing well.
You can—Hungary, Spain, and Turkey offer implants at 40-60% UK prices. But consider: aftercare is complicated if you live in the UK, quality control varies widely, and fixing problems becomes expensive when you’re far from your original dentist. The “bargain” can become costly.
Yes. Bone grafting adds £800-2,000 depending on extent. If you’ve had missing teeth for years, grafting is often necessary—there’s no way around this cost.
No. You can have implants for some teeth and keep natural teeth where healthy. Many people have a mix of implants and natural teeth.
With good home care and regular professional maintenance, implants typically last 20-30 years or longer. Some last a lifetime. They’re one of the most durable tooth replacement options available.
